Remote Support Corps
The ASRC Remote Support Corps is an operational group that provides a variety of services to search teams. Founded in 2019, the Corps’ mission is to use technology and trained personnel to support search teams from afar. Members are trained volunteer searchers from around the United States.
The Remote Support Corps’ services include, but are not limited to:
- Generating high quality maps for search planning and tasking
- Producing appropriate search tasks for available resources
- Reviewing images and video for clues and other evidence of the search subject Engaging in search planning, including scenario generation and region prioritization.
By providing these services, the Remote Support Corps allows Search Command Staff to focus on-scene personnel on operations, allowing the Search Manager to put more boots on the ground, faster. When activated early, the Corps is able to provide Search Managers with prepared tasks as the operations team arrives on scene, greatly accelerating the dispatch of search teams.
For those who are interested in joining, the Remote Support Corps provides free training in all necessary subjects and participates in inter- and intra-organization training on a regular basis. If you are interested in joining or would like more information about the Remote Support Corps, please contact Talon Bevan, Executive Officer.
